Allow me to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about what I can do. My name is Forrest Montminy. I’m a full time machinist and an amateur wood worker. I am primarily self taught at home over the past 20 years at home. In addition, over the past 2 years I have received formal training at The Oregon College of Arts and Crafts here in Portland. I have a well equipped wood working shop in my garage.
This bird house is simple, rustic, and is easy to built out of a single 1"x 6"x 6' cedar fence board. I would like to propose the house in 2 forms:
Bird House Kit - I had the opportunity to supply 10 house kits to my son's Tiger Cub Boy Scout Pack. The kits contained all the materials needed to construct a completed house. The boys (ages 8 - 10) were able to build the house with minimal instruction from me and help from Mom or Dad. The only tools required are a hammer and a screw driver. Except for a few smashed thumbs the boys had a great time assembling the houses.
The kit would contain:Best Regards,
